Nashik, (also Nasik), is a medium size, fast-growing city. The river Godavari flows through the city and the temples and steps on its banks make Nashik one of the holiest places for Hindus all over the World. Once every 12 years the city hosts millions of Hindus participating in the pilgrimage festival called Kumbh Mela (the Urn Festival). In Hindu mythology, Nasik got its name when the sister of the demon Ravana proposed to marry the god Rama. Hearing this, Rama ordered her nose (‘nasika’ in Sanskrit) to be cut off. Thus Nashik got its name. This is the context in which Muslims in Nashik live – surrounded by ancient Hindu tradition and culture.
Power to Heal the Sick
It was not until the establishment of regional Muslim kingdoms in the 14th and 15th centuries and the arrival of Muslim missionaries that the Muslims began to form a distinct community. The two leading Muslim missionaries in Nashik were Khunmir Hussaini (1520) and Syed Hussaini (1568). It is believed that both came with zealous preaching and the power to heal the sick, thus many Hindus readily converted to Islam. Devotion to these Muslim saints continues to this day.
The vast majority of Muslims in Nashik (as in all of India) are Sunnis who have been influenced over the generations by Hindu religion and culture. Some of the Muslims peoples residing in Nashik district are the Sayyed, the Pathan, the Malik, Muslims from Rajasthan, the Lakarharas (or wood-sellers who are a mixed population of Shaikhs), and a Shia sect called the Dawoodi Bohra. The majority of Muslims in the city are from the Sayyed group.
The Plight of the Muslims
A simple visit to Nashik city will easily demonstrate the plight of the Muslims living there. Many live in congested areas where the city infrastructure is of poor quality. When we wrote this article (summer 2006), there were no known ministries daily reaching out to Nashik's Muslims with the Gospel. However, this does not mean God is not at work among them.
Many genuine believers in Nashik have been praying for the Muslim community. Some are fearful of Muslims as well, caught up in the historical Indian prejudices between the varying religious communities. Another area for prayer is Malegaon, a city in Nashik district a few hours drive north east of Nashik city which is over 70% Muslim, far exceeding the Muslim population of Nashik city. Malegoan has a reputation for its communal tensions between the religious communities and the more volatile Muslim population.

While reading the Bible I had many questions in my mind about the true faith. Finally one day as I was praying and I asked God to help me stop smoking because I was a chain smoker.
I believed in God and received his forgiveness through Christ. The Lord set me free from my addiction! I later did a training program with a Christian group which helped me even more. Now I tell Muslims about how they can also discover Christ. I now have a small business and two Muslim men are also working with me. By trusting in Jesus I have experienced the peace of God. I have realised that God is really going to take care of me and my family.
Hi Rachid. I understand and believe that Christianity hold the strong healing power and it is a good religion, but it is not required to convert from Islam to christianity to get a support from Jesus PBUH. Even Islam believes in Jesus PBUH as one of the true prophet from God, and Mohammed PBUH also has got healing power from God. Read Quran and Bible old testiment in detail, you will not find the difference in both the religions. but dont read new testament of bible which is man made. Note : you will convert back to Islam, because Islam is the only one religion which takes you to the depth of life and gives the strong belief on God and his Prophet.
This made me to convert to Islam.
I think that this country may become a great blessing for the oppressed , poor Muslims. One may wonder about the poverty of Muslims in this country although it grants more freedom and opportunity to Muslims than most Muslim countries. The reason are manifold. Muslims are divided into different groups or tribes which is other way of saying caste. This can not be solely blamed as hindu influences. This is very important point to note that unless Muslims dissolve distinctions like ansari, shaikh, pathan etc our community is not going anywhere. I have been to USA and I have studied extensively societies of Jews, Jains and Europeans. Believe me, unless we produce a super-community of Indian Muslims, we will have little power or at most the power will be concentrated in a few hands, and not benefit the community. At least we should form a combined community of existing rich Muslims and high caste Hindu converts. Because to spread Islam in India, it is now crystal clear that the three main castes in India Brahmans, Rajputs and Banias had to convert. Else we would fail like we failed during last 1400 years. Think over it !
Interesting. I'm happy to hear that your organization is spending all this time, effort and money in foreign countries trying to convert Muslims. However, what most of your groups don't realize is that within your own western world, Christians are accepting Islam without much effort. In fact, in the US, the fastest growing Muslim community are Latinos. I should know, I'm one myself. While you are busy trying to establish yourselves in war torn middle eastern countries at great expense and even life you fail recognize that the religion of Islam is around you and growing in leaps and bounds. Mosques are being built all over the US and new converts are flocking to them because of the truth that they find in Islam. So continue you're work and we will continue ours.

Ans} You know Saira, its not permissible in Islam to force anyone to embrace it. Allah says in the Qur'an, "There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the right path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower'
So its not permissible to force anyone. But, once when a person enters into folds of Islam by his wish, he is then to bound to the rules. For example, you work for a company. You signed a contract. Before signing it, you have freedom to either accept or reject the rules, But once when you accept and signin contract , you are follow the rules of your office.
Similarly, when a person enters into Islam, by his wish, he has to follow the rules. Id he decides to leave, it "death" is his punishment. But this is applicable only in an Islamic state. Can u show me any case in India, where an apostate was killed ?

Its intresting question, Saira. First of all no one knows the exact age of Ayesha RA, age of marriage. All the reports we get to read, may or may not be true. For the sake of discussion, let me agree that she was of 9 years.
Prophet Muhammad(saw) was a Noble Messenger of God. Muhammad(saw) lived in a society and culture that existed 1400 years ago, and we must not judge what he or others did based on the standards we have set today. It is wrong and foolish to do so!.
Another major (seemingly oldest) religion of the east, Hinduism, finds it's roots in early marriages of the girls. Child marriage of daughters 5-6 years old was common due to the custom of dowry and to avoid scandals [Nand 17] [Basham 167-8] [Yadav 70] [Altekar 16] [Banerjee 70]. Hindu Law books prescribe that the best partner for a man in one-third his age. Thus a man 18 year old should marry a girl 6 years old! –
"A man, aged thirty years, shall marry a maiden of twelve who pleases him, or a man of twenty-four a girl of eight years of age; if (the performance of) his duties would otherwise be impeded, he must marry sooner." [Manu IX.94]
This was meant to prevent any scandals. Narada states that some of the defects to be avoided in brides are if they already had a relationship with another man or have their minds set on another, they should not be selected [Sheth 67].
So, what we have to keep in mind is, not only was it a custom in the Arab society as well, to Engage/Marry a young girl it was also common in the other olden world societies. Also, the case of Mary the mother of Jesus comes to mind, in non-biblical sources she was between 11-14 years old when she conceived Jesus (peace be upon him). Mary (may peace be upon her) had already been 'betrothed' to Joseph before conceiving Jesus. Joseph was a much older man and Mary(ra) was younger than 11-14 years of age when she was 'betrothed' to Joseph. We, as Muslims, would never call Joseph a wrong doer, nor would we ever refer to the 'Holy Ghost' of the Bible, that 'Impregnated' Mary as a "Rapist" ...and Allah Almighty knows best. Not to mention, the present day misguided Priests of the church, painting the world red with their escapades that involve countless crimes of 'Pedophilia' and Rapes', where Susan Archibald, 37, a now retired Air Force officer who said a Catholic Air Force chaplain abused her starting in the 1980's, when she was an 18-year-old cadet at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He was 38. In her testimony she said that, "When my chaplain first began to abuse me, he told me that God had sent me to him as a gift." A gift to use and throw.
Anyways, coming to the point of discussion, a girl when gets matured, reaches her age of marriage, acc to Islam. If she is matured by 9 years, then why not, she can get married ?

Quran is the only book preserved in its original form.
1) There is nothing in Quran where Muslims are not allowed to convert to any other religion. well, it is written that there is no compulsion in religion so you can convert. look into the internet and in Asian regions, there are many ignorant Muslims have converted to Christianity n other religions.
2) Muhammad (PBUH) never married a 9 years old girl. It is written in Hadith which is doubtful. We can easily conclude that he married to Aisha when she was 12 or 13 years old since she was born in yume jahiliya i.e. before the Muhammad (PBUH) messangership and he married to Aisha after moving to madinah i.e 10 years n it is also known that prophet (PBUH) married to Aisha (R) 2 years later. What you want to say for mary who got pregnant with Jesus Christ at the age of 12. What will you say when she was married of to an old man of 90's. Do you have any comment for Sita who got married when she was only 6 year old.
3) ISLAM clearly states that there is nothing like giving name to any baby. Zed (R) divorced his wife and prophet married her after the revelation that adopted son will not be recognised as there own Son.
4) Islam is peaceful but people can be wrong. Look at Hitler killing of innocent jews, can u blame christianity for it or mumbai or godhra riots, will u label hindu responsible for it.
5) Prayers is for us, it doesn't mean that we can be in 100 % peace just on offering prayers 5 times a day. we have to find ALLAH's love in our prayers which u seriously lack.

Can you tell naxalites and maoists about hindu rituals and practices. will u bring them to peace. We can also try and by the way there are many muslim organisation who are trying to correct them. But the current conditions in such regions is out of control and people are not allowed to reach there. We can only try, rest is left on people whether they want to follow it or not. Your Jack-ir-Naik makes lot of fun by mentioning that mehmad's name was mentioned in vedas. He is a utter lier. Nowhere in vedas , mohammed or any other child molestor's name was mentioned.
Vedas call for unity and submission to One Supreme God Almighty Lord Narayan who descends into many forms and protects all living beings in this universe. Vedas never called for Jehad. Even the caste system was the plan of some greedy brahmins and kings to retain their power.
Caste sytem was originally proffession based system dividing various job like teaching, army, business, services among various sections of hindus. In vedas it was clearly mentioned that any person who was born in a lower caste also can become brahmin if he has firm belief in GOD and respects fellow humans. Vedas also mentioned that any person who was born as a brahmin will cease to be a brahmin once he indulges in non-human things.
Even in Kalki purana it was clearly mentioned:
" "Those who are known as twice-born (Brahmins) are devoid of the Vedas, narrow-minded and they are fond of carnal desires, seller of religion, seller of the Vedas, untouchable and seller of juices; they sell meat, are cruel, engaged in sexual gratification and gratification of their appetite, attached to others' wives, drunk and producer of cross-breeds; have a low life-span, mix with lowly people and consider their brother-in-law as the only friend.Men are considered Brahmins simply because they have the sacred thread around their body and as explorers, simply because they have a stick in their hand; the Earth becomes infertile, rivers hit the banks, wives take pleasure in speaking like prostitutes and their minds are not attracted towards their husbands; Brahmins become greedy for others' food, wives mix freely even after they become widows; the clouds release rain irregularly, the land becomes infertile, the kings kill their subjects, the people are burdened with taxes; they survive by eating honey, meat, fruits and roots; in the first quarter of the Koli Age, people deride God; in the second quarter, people do not even pronounce God's name; in the third quarter, men become cross-breeds; in the fourth quarter, men become the same (uniform) breed; nothing called race exists anymore; they forget God and pious works become extinct.

If you see above quote, it was clearly mentioned that there won't be any true brahmins in this kaliyuga as all of them become greedy. 'Brahmin' is the title given to any person who has a set of good qualities and believes in humanity.
Example:
A Dalit called Shukhadeva Goswamy has written first version of Bhagavatham just 40 years after departure of Lord Sri Krishna 5110 years ago. He was respected as a Brahmin by even Deva Maharshi Narada and Bhagavatha was accepted as one of divine scriptures in Hinduism. So Brahmin is the title that just doesn't come by Birth. It comes with good qualities. Even Sikh gurus who preached humanity and died for humanity can also be equated to divine brahmins and maharshis.
Till 50 B.C under the rule of Vikramaditya, Dharma was protected. But later, some kings and some brahmins who wanted to exploit religion and rob fellow humans, have created caste system. So caste or your birth doesn't matter. You need to live as good human and follow the path of dharma and Lord Krishna will protect you. Even before leaving, Krishna has clearly said that he will return as Kalki at the end of kaliyuga to exterminate all those who are following the kalipurush(Satan). He clearly mentioned that Kalki will spare those who follow HUMANITY which means whatever religion you were born in , if you are a good human and help fellow humans, GOD will protect you.
The original name of Hinduism was Sanathana Dharma. So names like Hinduism, Christianity, Islam etc are given by us for our beliefs. So the name of your religion doesn't matter. As long as you live like a good human, GOD will protect you.

'ISLAM' is derived from the Arabic root word "SALEMA": meaning peace, purity, submission and obedience. In the religious sense, Islam means 'submission to the will of God and obedience to His divine laws'.
Everything and every phenomenon in the world, other than man is administered TOTALLY by God-made laws i.e. they are obedient to God and submissive to His laws i.e. they are in the STATE OF ISLAM. Man possesses the quality of intelligence and choice, thus he is invited to submit to the good will of God and obey His law ie. become a Muslim. Submission to the good will of God, together with obedience to His beneficial law, i.e. becoming a Muslim is the best safeguard for man's peace and harmony.
Therefore, if we were to go by the definition of 'Islam', Islam dates back to the edge of Adam and Eve and its message has been conveyed to man by God's various Prophets and Messengers including Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad, peace be upon all of them.
Qur'an, which is revealed book for whole mankind {Even for you}, says that Adam was the first human being sent on the earth. As said, right from Adam to all the messengers sent, they called people towards submission - Islam. So Islam is not a new religion.

In contrast, mohammed asked his followers to rape non-muslims, sell non-muslims women as sex slaves in streets of arab cities. Also Quran has clearly mentioned that women were impure. How can it be possible? GOD has created both men and women to spread love and raise a peaceful civilization. Regarding Zakir Naik... He was meant to be a lawyer... he just quotes page numbers and phrases w/o context, and cannot accept arguments.
He is biased towards Islam, and uses other religions' books (page numbers/ chapters without context and full explanation) just to justify his beliefs..

Surat police arrested three Muslim youths who kidnapped and gang raped a school girl in the city, within hours of the incident.
Two of the suspects Shahid Saiyad and Tarik Saiyad are sons of Policemen. Shahid’s father Nizamuddin is Circle Police Inspector in Dholka, while Tarik’s father is Head Constable in Surat Police’s Mahidharpura. One more suspect is Abu Bakar.
According to Surat Police, Abu, Shahid and Tarik spotted the 17-year-old girl at a bus stop near the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Majura gate in the morning. A girl was exchanging Chemistry note with a boy. Shahid, Tarik and Abu called a girl near the car saying they were from Police. Later they pulled the girl and the boy in the car forcefully. They then tied a boy with a tree and continued to keep a girl in their car. Each of the three youths gang raped the girl in the moving car on rear seat and abandoned her on the Udhna road. They captured a video of rap incident and threatened the girl that they would make this video public if she complains.
The badly bruised girl called up her parents from a telephone booth and narrated the incident to them. Her parents and relatives reached the spot and took her to a government dispensary for treatment after informing the police.

The Imrana Rape case and the appalling ruling of the Islamic court thereafter is out for anyone who seeks to see the truth. Even you can't disagree that women are considered inferior to men in Islam (please don't interpret my words in a strictly technical sense, I'm obviously implying in a general sense). Is it not true that in case of rape of a Muslim woman, she has to procure four male Muslim witnesses in the Islamic court of law to prove the assault? Is it also not true that the testimony of a non-believer in an Islamic court holds no value when compared to the testimony of a Muslim man?
You know as well as anyone else that some Islamic countries are the worst offenders where treatment of minorities and human rights are concerned (case in point: the ongoing genocide of Hindus in Pakistan whose population has dropped by a factor of 25 in just 60 years!). Sure there are good Muslims, but they seem to have no political presence or will to curb the fanatics and zealots?
How do you expect people to believe the oft said 'Islam is a religion of peace' when it expressly discriminates between believers and non-believers and sometimes describes borderline psychotic methods to humble and humiliate 'Dhimmis' and other non-believers with imposition of taxes such as the 'jiziya' and ruinous methods of extracting them?
