It is good for believers to be aware of these challenges, and even the challenge that WE can be to potential and new believers from Muslim backgrounds. Those of us sheltered in "Christian nations" really don't know how blessed we are to not suffer such cultural persecution and ostracism for our faith. If we did, we would undoubtedly live out our faith in a different way. Also think of the reverse situation - what kinds of things do religious minorities such as Muslims have to go through in western nations where they're looked on with suspicion and hatred. How much would it affect our treatment of them if we knew what persecution really meant? Wouldn't we be more effective in reaching them through compassion?
