The vast of the Muslim community lives and works in the area around one main street in Luton. This particular area (Bury Park) is facing many needs and challenges. It has been identified as one of the neediest communities in England.

In Bradford, an industrial town in Northwest England, it is estimated that roughly three quarters of the population are from Mirpur, Pakistani Kashmir. They made a huge cultural and geographical leap to settle in the UK. Most Mirpuris speak Pothowari, a language related to Punjabi.

Since April of 2000 large numbers of refugees have been housed in Scotland's Glasgow most of whom are Muslim. Mainly the Muslim community of Glasgow is of Pakistani origin.
